Craig Holt

Hall of Fame Class of 2011

Craig Holt (Class of 1988) – Craig was a three-year varsity basketball player and a two-year varsity baseball player. Craig was a two-time All-League and All-County selection in basketball and was the CO-MVP of the league in 1988 in basketball. Craig helped the Mariners win two SCCAL basketball championships and one SCCAL baseball championship, and he was a key player on the 1985-86 CCS and Nor-Cal championship team that lost in the CIF state finals. Those remain the school’s only CCS and Nor-Cal boys basketball championships in school history. Craig was also a starter on the 1986-87 basketball team that was the CCS and Nor-Cal runner up. Craig averaged 24 points per game his senior year and led the Mariners to the CCS quarter-finals. After graduation, Craig attended West Valley Junior College, where he still holds many basketball records and where he and his Viking teammates won the 1990 California Junior College State Championship. From West Valley, Craig received a basketball scholarship to Loyola Marymount University. At LMU, despite only playing two-years, Craig is still 11th all-time in 3-point field goals and 6th in 3-point field goal percentage. Craig also participated in LMU’s 1991 NCAA record-setting game where they scored 186 points (LMU 186, US International 140). Craig received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Minor in Mathematics from LMU. Craig is married to Jamie and has three daughters, Brianna, Malia, and Kenna. Craig owns and operates Sierra Nevada Construction, Inc., a heavy civil construction business located in Reno, Nevada. Craig is currently the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Bishop Manogue High School. He still enjoys running, hunting and participating in his girls sporting events. Craig was presented into the Hall by his brother, Warren.
