Trent Dilfer

Hall of Fame Clas of 2002

Trent Dilfer (class of 1990) – At Aptos, Trent was All-League and All-County in football, basketball, and golf, and he led all three teams into the CCS playoffs. Trent still holds many school records in football, and in 1990 he was selected as the Santa Cruz Sentinel’s Male Athlete-of-the-Year. Trent was also selected to the Aptos High 25th Anniversary All-Time Football Team as a quarterback, defensive back, and punter. Trent matriculated to Fresno State University, where he was an All-American quarterback and winner of the “Sammy Baugh Trophy” (given each year to the outstanding college quarterback in the nation). Trent led the Bulldogs to back-to-back WAC championships, and a stirring victory over USC in the 1991 Freedom Bowl his sophomore year. Trent was the 6th player chosen in the 1994 NFL draft, selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trent led the Bucs to their first playoff appearance in twenty years, and he was selected to the 1998 Pro Bowl. After signing with the Baltimore in 2000, he quarterbacked the Ravens to victory in Super Bowl XXXV. Trent currently plays for the Seattle Seahawks. Trent is married to Cassandra, and they have four children, Maddie, Trevin, Tori, and Delaney. Trent was presented into the Hall by his step-father, Frank Lynch.
