Stu Walters

Hall of Fame Class of 2006

Stu Walters (class of 1977) – Stu earned eight varsity letters at Aptos, three each in baseball and basketball, and two in football. In football, Stu was an All-League and All-County quarterback, and selected to the Aptos High 25th Anniversary All-Time Football Team as a second-team quarterback (behind Trent Dilfer). Stu still holds four passing records at Aptos, and he remains second on the “career passing yardage” list. As one of the top point guards to ever play basketball at Aptos, Stu led the Mariners to three consecutive SCCAL championships, and he was several times All-League and All-County. After Aptos, Stu went on to play both football and basketball at Cabrillo College, and he was selected as a captain for both teams his sophomore year. Stu matriculated to Chico State University, where he continued to play football. Today Stu teaches P.E. and coaches boys basketball at Soquel High School. Stu and his wife Val live in Soquel, and they have four children, Sam, Alli, Maggie, and Max. Stu was presented into the Hall by his brother Kevin.
